New to Hudson, NH: a newcomer's checklist
Just moved to Hudson, or about to? Here are the first things to take care of, from registering your car at Town Hall to getting a library card, each with a link to the official town page. Checked against the town's website on October 29, 2026.
Register your car
Register at the Town Clerk/Tax Collector's office at Town Hall, 12 School Street, which handles the town part and most state registrations. Bring your driver's license and your title or the dealer's title application; all transactions need proof of residency or ID. New Hampshire driver's licenses and other DMV services are by appointment with the NH Division of Motor Vehicles. Town motor vehicle page
Property tax bills
Hudson bills property taxes twice a year. The first bill is mailed by the end of May and is typically due around July 1; the final bill is typically mailed in October and due around December 1. If your mortgage company pays through escrow, forward the bill to them. Town property tax page · Hudson tax rate history · What a Hudson tax bill looks like
Trash and recycling
Homes on curbside collection get three free transfer station passes a year for clean-up days, issued by Public Works at 2 Constitution Drive with a picture ID. The transfer station is off West Road on Old Landfill Road; yard waste, cardboard and metal don't need a pass. Transfer station hours and rules
Water and sewer
The town runs a water utility and a sewer utility, each with its own billing. Some homes are on a private well or septic system instead, so check which a home has before you buy. Water · Sewer · Well and septic guide

Registering to vote
