I have a New Hampshire Housing mortgage. How do I pay it and get help?

House keys handed over above a stack of moving boxes

Short answer

Your loan is with New Hampshire Housing, but day-to-day servicing for many of its loans is handled by a company it hired, Dovenmuehle Mortgage. You can pay and see your account online, and NH Housing's customer service line handles payoffs and questions. If you get a property tax or insurance bill, NH Housing's FAQ tells you where to mail it. If you're having trouble paying, call them as soon as possible.

How do I pay my NH Housing mortgage?

NH Housing says you can pay online and see your account 24 hours a day through its borrower portal. Mailed payments go to the payment-only address listed in its Existing Borrowers FAQ. Check that page for the current address before you mail anything, and keep the payment address separate from the one for tax and insurance bills.

Why does my statement say Dovenmuehle?

NH Housing hired Dovenmuehle Mortgage, Inc. to service many of its loans. Your loan is still with NH Housing. A change in who services a loan comes with written notices; see what happens when your loan is sold or moved.

What do I do with a tax or insurance bill?

If your taxes and insurance are paid through escrow, NH Housing's FAQ gives separate mailing addresses for property tax bills and insurance bills so they're paid from your escrow account. See how escrow works with NH tax bills.

How do I get a payoff amount?

Call NH Housing's customer service department and ask for a payoff statement. Federal rules require a servicer to send one within seven business days of a written request; see how your mortgage is paid off when you sell.

What help does NH Housing offer existing borrowers?

  • Refinancing. NH Housing offers government-insured and conventional refinance programs aimed at owners with limited equity, through its approved lenders.
  • Emergency Home Repair Loan. For an emergency repair that isn't covered by insurance and affects whether you can live in the home, NH Housing borrowers may qualify for a loan of up to $25,000 with a term of up to 15 years.
  • Trouble paying. Contact NH Housing right away. For free foreclosure prevention counseling, NH Housing points borrowers to AHEAD, a HUD-approved housing counseling agency.
